The application of non-woven fabric in agriculture includes covering crops such as cantaloupe, sweet peppers, tomatoes, root vegetables, carrots, radishes, cabbage, lettuce, etc. It is mainly used for insulation, early harvest cultivation, and pest prevention. Later, non-woven materials with different properties were used to cover boundary surfaces as weed mats, increasing soil temperature and moisture retention. Additionally, short fibers' water absorption properties were utilized to produce water-absorbent mats, which are laid in seedbeds to allow roots to absorb water fully. It can also be used as a substrate for lawn production or even directly as garden turf for moisture retention, drainage, and separation in landscaping. There are also large woody plants, such as landscape trees and fruit trees, using planting bags and container cultivation techniques. For larger trees like fruit trees, the root zone can prevent weed growth and retain moisture.
